I thought I’d share a few happenings in 2014 that have my heart fluttering;)
Books
Two of my favorite stories of God and His mercy and redemption and glorious power are written about and testified by two bloggers. I look forward to each time I hear an update from each of them, whose stories are vastly different. They both write with such depth and such raw tenderness to the Spirit. They have walked difficult roads but have praised Him throughout the journey. And the testimonies they have along the way are breathtaking.
So, when I found out that both of them have books coming out in 2014, I was elated!
First, I will share Sara Hagerty. You can read her blog here
That is the link to the post that she shares about her upcoming book release;)
This is a story woven by a Father God who loves us so tenderly
A long journey with infertility, the beautiful redemption of adoption, and miracles along the way are all a part of Sara’s story.
She writes often about how adoration redirects all of life to where it should be, Heavenwards.
And the year she wrote this book, she conceived a child after over a decade of infertility
Dear ones, her words flow in strikingly beautiful patterns of grace.
You must surely get a copy of this book.
It comes out in October thru Zondervan Publishers
It will be called Every Bitter Thing Is Sweet: Tasting the Goodness of God in All Things
Secondly, the story of Ian and Larissa is one that takes my breath away.
I was inspired to write this post after reading a story of theirs
Their blog can be found here
This is a story of the love of Jesus trumping all things
Truly it does and they are walking it out
While they were dating, Ian suffered a traumatic brain injury that has left serious effects on him
But he is overcoming in so many ways
I believe his goal is to walk before he turns 30 this year
Larissa married him and you can see a video on their blog of their gorgeous wedding
They boast in Jesus thru it all and to see Divine Love sustain them in the midst of so much physical suffering is a beautiful thing.
They also have a book coming out this year!
I believe it is called 828, but I am not sure.
You should be on the lookout for it;)

Movies
In the movie category (which is not an area I usually have much to offer), one of my favorite books is coming out as a movie.
Unbroken is by Laura Hillenbrand and is the story of the WWII war hero, Louis Zamperini
Louis was an Olympic runner and was captured by Japanese forces during WWII.
The book and movie are an account of his life
My friends, redemption and forgiveness drip from this story.
It is going to be a pretty amazing film because Angelina Jolie is directing it.
I do not think she messes around when it comes to film.
So be on the lookout for that
And before it comes out, please read it
You will not regret it
(I actually did the audio book option with Raja in 2011 when we were driving all over the east coast for Adam’s surgeries. Cracker Barrel can always help you out there…;) )

Music
In the music category, my current favorite musician is Josh Garrels.
He has a new album coming out this year
Dear ones, invest in it.
He has gone thru multiple seasons of giving away albums for free
His lyrics are brilliant and saturated in Truth yet are woven together with a unique beauty that I have never heard before in music.
They stretch your heart and mind and turn your gaze upwards.
And I wish I could comment on the instrumental contribution, but I do not know much there…
Except that it is incredible and moves your soul.
I believe you can sample music here
I highly recommend all of his albums and do keep an eye out for the new one this year!
