Corneal Transplant a Success

December 17, 2011

Thank you all for your prayers last night. The surgery went very well and they believe it is a more permanent solution to a problem that would not be solved thru temporary measures (ie-glue). We feel quite confident about this.

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. Truly thank you.

We were blessed with friends bringing words of encouragement, hugs, and tasty food all night long. It was great.

Adam came home with us at midnight and slept well thru the night. He is now back to his normal self with someone else’s cornea inside;) Kinda crazy to think about.

I dont know if you have googled Adam’s syndrome since hearing about it…often times pretty heartbreaking pictures appear. Often times children with this syndrome are aborted, miscarried, or lost soon after birth. So many of the pictures are quite hard to see. There are very few cases that have actually been extensively researched. I believe the number is actually just 26. But this was a precious story I thought I would share from a  hospital in NY. This little boy was also adopted and is now in the 4th grade thriving;)

Redeeming love has been my theme and shall be till I die!

This quote has been significant to me lately:

“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” Kahlil Gibran

Reminds me of the Word when we are encouraged not to be surprised at the fiery trials that come our way.

And the fact that our Lord is not at all unacquainted with scars and sorrow. And He is with us in the midst of them all!

Thank you for all the love

Adam is a shadow chaser, high five giver, explorer, & overcomer. He joined our family thru adoption and has taught us a new way to see ever since. His unformed body revealed my unformed heart.
