I (Jessica) am writing this from our little temporary home in Chapel Hill.
I have been a bit sick all day, since last night, and have a sick nasty voice at the moment.
It is hard to be sick, to be honest.
But I am trying to be faithful and restful with the time.
I did have the time to reflect a bit more and did finish this here:

Since I was a sick baby…
Papa Raj had to go alone into the battle today.
Haha, it is not really a battle. Well, maybe a little bit.
But we have lots of people helping and Papa Raj has done well.
He has called and given frequent reports.
So I am here to pass those on to you.
Thank you all again for your prayers.
Good news! No need for Adam to be in the Pediatric ICU (Intensive Care Unit).
He is recovering normally and is being transferred this evening.
The catheter was removed pretty soon after surgery, but Adam was not quite ready.
He was not peeing very much, so they put in a new catheter and gave him so extra IV fluids.
Now he is peeing just fine;)
Continue praying for the eyes;) Just for miraculous recovery.
As of now, they are applying antibiotic eyedrops incredibly often in order to facilitate healing and prevent further damage.
Regarding eyes, pray:
-healing of ulcers that appeared on cornea (mostly on L eye, tiny one on R eye). They are not at the level of the pupil yet, so they should not affect vision, but just a part of Adam’s “field of gaze” may be affected.
-Strengthening of eyelid muscles. His “opening” and “closing” muscles on the eyelid need to work well in order to let him be able to open and shut his eyelids well.
-For God to sustain his visual ability after having his eyelids shut for a few days. Infants can lose sight very quickly without having their vision stimulated often. We need to pray that his visual ability lasts;)
The only other major thing is managing Adam’s pain. Please pray for continued wisdom and compassion for docs and nurses to know how to treat Adam’s discomfort (normal after so many surgeries).
That is our update for today.
Just for fun…I was looking back thru pics of Adam’s first days. And I came across these pictures….Raja was beloved by his patients throughout the Northeast of India. Sometimes he was given gifts of mangoes, fruits, huge gold rings for his dear wife;), etc. But my favorite days of all were when he was given live chickens!
Faces like these are why I love my husband…and why Adam loves his dad so much. He is definitely a daddy’s boy at the moment. |
Thank you all again

Dear Jessica,
I do not know you personally but came across Adam's blog when a friend posted the link on Facebook. I wanted you to know that your story has greatly moved me and my husband and we now pray for you daily. My Dad is a reconstructive surgeon and so we are familiar with medical anomalies and surgeries and all that those involve, for the patient and the family. And we will continue to lift you and Baby Adam up in prayer as your journey continues. I wanted you to know that our little boy, Jack, who is 21 months old, is fascinated by Adam's photo now and asks most days to see "baby". When we open up Adam's blog, he says "pray" right away 🙂 We will continue to pray for Adam with our Jack. Please know your little boy has a prayer partner in ours! With love,
Christy (Andre and Jack)

Jessica,
I just saw your story on the local news here in Raleigh. I was so blessed to hear about your compassion for this poor baby. I will be following your journey closely and praying for Adam daily. I'm glad that you have a church family that is caring for you. Your story challenges everyone to give selflessly to those in need.
Many Blessings,
Eva
