all was peaceful…night of discharge. |
Hello to all. Well we have had a wonderful few days out of the hospital.
However, today we came in for an eye checkup and we are in need of prayer.
The eyelids have shrunken a little back (normal occurence after skin grafting) which has left the lower half of the cornea more exposed. We have really noticed this in the past 1.5 days. Before that, they were almost fully swollen shut.
He can sleep well because the cornea is hidden when sleeping but since he is a curious baby, he is always straining to look in the part that is opened. That causes damage to his cornea that was almost fully healed.
This has caused the little ulcer that had healed to reopen some in the left eye.
No amount of eye ointment can protect his cornea and they are planning surgery for today most likely.
We do not know details, we are waiting to hear. But this is completely unexpected and a lot considering all that happened just a week ago in surgery. But the eye doctors do not want to risk exposure for the cornea much longer.
-Please pray for wisdom of doctors
-Please pray for strength for Adam…he has had a dreadful morning of eye inspections. He is now soundly sleeping on my chest in the best baby wrap ever.
-Please pray for strength for me and Raja. For us to see through the tears in our eyes….tears of surprise, fear, worry. Pray we can press into Him and dwell in the shadow of His wings.
We do want you all to know we had a wonderful weekend with Adam. He was loved on by many different people. The sermon Sunday was conveniently on the first Adam and the second Adam picture that our Messiah was. Adam slept more peacefully than ever before. Raja and I have had good couple time. Jesus has been so good to us. But this was a huge surprise.
As I write, I just think of the manna in the desert.
Yesterday, God was so sweet.
We had good time with eachother as a family, all seemed to be going pretty good, etc.
Today, a different story.
But I cannot live off of the manna from yesterday.
I cannot feast from yesterday’s moldy manna.
But I cannot live off of the manna from yesterday.
I cannot feast from yesterday’s moldy manna.
Today I must feast on the Bread of Life for today.
And it tastes a bit different and I do not really want it at the moment.
But it is enough.
Because He is enough.

You write so beautifully and from the heart. My prayers are with you and your little family today. Little Adam is truly blessed to have so much love. I pray that his discomfort will be minimal.

Praying!!! Adam is such an inspiration to so many! Thank you for the updates, it is so good to know how to pray for him and your you two, specifically. Rest in HIM during the seemingly endless hours of surgery and in the moments when all your strength is gone and it feels like you can no longer hold on… He will wrap His arms around you and carry you. 🙂

Not only is Adam touching so many lives, you and Raja are too. What a wonderful reminder that we can't feast on yesterday's manna. I am lifting you all up now. Lord, place your sweet healing hands on Adam's eyes. Give the doctors, nurses, and all who are caring for Adam, your wisdom and guidance. Thank you for being the solid ground, the rock of strength for Jessica and Raja.
May souls be saved through this family's visible trust and reliance on you. They are a shining light and I pray for the unsaved that are watching Adam's journey unfold. Thy will Father. Amen

Hello Jessica and Raja and darling baby Adam!
My brother, Jorge, and niece, Gabriella, told me about your blog. It's funny, I was visiting them in Jacksonville the weekend you were married. They came home laden with stories of how wonderful you both, Jessica and Raja, are. Together, we watched the video of the Indian hospital where you worked and talked about how amazing your commitment and devotion to "the least of my brothers" is. Now, your powerful witness has grown as your family has grown! We are grateful for God showing us His face through your family. We are keeping you lifted up to Him in prayer. May God continue to bless you.
