1st day post op

January 12, 2012

Hello to all. It is 11pm on Wed night. I (Jessica) am back at our home resting because my precious, loving, and handsome;) husband has sent me back 2 nights in a row to rest with my dear momma. That means sleepless nights for him at the hospital. Humbles me to be loved like that…
Anyways, I just wanted to update you all that Adam is doing great.
He had some pain that the nurses worked quite hard at controlling throughout the day. It is now well managed and I hope that Raja will sleep a full night.
The plan is to be discharged tomorrow AM by 10.
He has large bandages over his eyes attempting to help the grafts adhere better this time.
On Friday, stitches that were placed will be removed.
We are all doing well.
This quote has hit me lately as we are aware EACH STEP OF THIS JOURNEY, Abba Father is carrying us and making impossible POSSIBLE. It is beautiful to witness His handiwork and get to be a tool in this process. Never would I have imagined being allowed to walk out this journey. Never could I have dreamed or imagine life to be so beautiful and redemption to be seen so closely in each day…but wait. Look Whom we serve;)
“God is looking for people through whom He can do the impossible.

What a pity when we plan only the things we can do by ourselves.” -A.W. Tozer

precious mimi loving on adam

I love my boys.

THAT my friends, is Adam’s father and my dear husband. That love and joy seen there….it leads our little family with such grace from the heights above. I am humbled to call him husband and excited to see him continue to raise and love Adam. The way he holds him, bathes him, speaks to him, intercedes for him, friends it is beautiful. And his sacrifice of sleep on my behalf AGAIN and AGAIN…it is humbling.

Trying to calm him at the bedside.

Mimi giving him a kiss immediately postop.

I would also like to thank

1. My dad for holding down the fort in Jax so mimi could come visit
2. the Senior family for their hmmm…does “hospitality” suffice? No, I do not think it does. But gratitude overflows for their unending love and support as they continue to host our crazy family.
3. Brooke and Mrs. Gleason who have supplied us with precious lunches during hospitalization
4. Lori, our dear infant care coordinator and her visits;)
5. Bobbi and Rick Druvay sitting for hours with us in the waiting room
6. Stephanie Covington and her family sending Raja a cell phone
7. Dr. Van Aalst and Dr. Dutton with all that they have done on Adam’s behalf yesterday in surgery
8. All of Adam’s nurses these past few days
9. all of your prayers!
10. Abba Father Who adopted Raja and I and whose love for Adam and Whose redeeming love empowered us and is redeeming lives all over.

And as I struggle to see the scars on my little son’s body, I am reminded that by His stripes, thru the Loving sacrifice of Abba Father, WE ARE HEALED.

“By His wounds we are healed” And He who endured such pain can surely walk with Adam thru this.

“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” Kahlil Gibran

Saying prayers right now that Adam's pain will continue to be well managed and that everyone can get some rest. Also praying that the grafts adhere better this time and that everything heals the way it should. Praying for continued strength for you and Raja.
