Can I Tell you a Story? (13)

August 8, 2013

Logistics Update
I know it is hard not having an actual number of funds raised.
It is hard for us as well.
Basically, the computer program that the Medical Foundation of NC uses is being converted/changed over/etc.
So for a few weeks it is hard to get a total of funds
The checks are coming in every day and are being managed as normal
But the computer system that totals the funds raised is currently being switched.
We have been told we should know within a few days for sure
Estimates are $90,000-$100,000
We are so humbled.
We still need the $150,000
BUT
Surgery is officially at 730 AM on August 23rd
Prayers welcomed;)
Surgery will include cleft palate and multiple examinations under anesthesia

So this motley crew and I just returned from a quick trip back to North Carolina
CBN did a second story on Adam that is going to be up and running, LIVE, in a week
Their first story is HERE
We are thankful to have had the same reporter travel down and spend a few hours with us
A few photos from our venture to NC and back
The Florence, SC Barnes and Noble is a well known place to us
It is the middle of our trip for us and the perfect resting stop. Dear other children, sorry for the path of destruction my boys paved. Dont worry, we tidied up well and nothing was destroyed.
Adam loves these toys

So my story?
Once upon a time, there was (and is, and always will be) a great Abba Father
Who weaves beautiful stories
He brings people from all over the world to know one another, share journeys with each other, and bear one anothers burdens
Because we are not meant to walk alone
And we have a beautiful community here in Jacksonville that has amazed us with their support.
Tonight in downtown Jax was the Art Walk
It happens the first Wednesday of each month and is so much fun
Our friend, Scott Morphew, is a local artist and did a beautiful piece honoring Adam
this is Scott’s painting
He has been showing it every week and tonight was a chance to meet Adam;)
poster outside our booth area
So we all went downtown and had a great time meeting beautiful people and feeling so loved
Next to our booth was a girl that makes soaps homemade and she gave us a gift of beautiful soaps
There was also a cookie vendor who filled a bag with cookies

And both shared such encouraging words with us
The stories really are endless
Of how many people are coming alongside us
And we do not know how to thank you all.
But thank you;)

raja and the boys at the display

CEO of the business who hosted Scott’s booth each week
precious new friends
love this little family of ours

And some pictures from our walk around downtown Jax afterwards…

yes. that is a snake in that woman’s hands. didnt realize that was in the backdrop of the picture for a while…

But then it made the picture so much cooler…so I kept taking them;) The snake, dizzying wall mural, radio flyer taxi, my precious boys, all in one picture…nearly overwhelming;)
and seriously? i cannot get enough of this boy

so thankful for his joy
