So tomorrow at 730 am Adam goes in for a long surgery.
At the minimum it will be 5 hours.
Do be praying.
They are estimating and budgeting for 1 day in the hospital and coming home by Saturday most likely.
Since Adam has a trach, the airway is not an issue b/c the trach is considered a safe and alternate airway
(Airway is usually the main concern after this surgery)
So I ask you all to be praying
And I have an idea…
A way to connect everyone the world over who is praying for Adam;)

Well yes, he has a little bald head in all the pictures.
Don’t worry, we are not going to ask you to shave your heads;)
BUT he also is wearing a cap (“Newsies” style) in all the pictures.

Also, Adam is always wearing something around his neck over his trach…
It used to be a backwards bib, now it is a bandana or scarf;)
It helps keep the saliva from getting into his trach and triggering his cough
And it protects his trach from dust and such
And he doesn’t knock it off like other techniques we have tried;)
So…
For those of you who live, go to school, and work in environments/cultures where this is permissable…
We thought you could sport a newsies cap or a bandana/scarf in honor of Adam tomorrow?
Then when people ask you why…
You can share Adam’s story
