Eternal longings root themselves deep in this mama’s heart.
For she knows that there are unseen glories far beyond what our finite eyes can behold.
For there is glory deeper than we know
There is a day where every tear will be wiped
When little boys and little girls with missing parts will be made whole
The pure and spotless Lamb
(Who was slain before the earth’s foundations)
(And Who has risen)
Will be upon the Throne
And He will show us things beyond our understanding
And we will see the grand tapestry He wove throughout the ages
And we will finally get a glimpse of the beautiful purpose to pain and suffering and unformed bodies
Tonight I want to bow down on bloodied knees
For the battle is hard and painful at times
And I want to keep my eyes and my heart fixed on these truths
That the BEST IS YET TO COME
That no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived
What God has prepared for THOSE WHO LOVE HIM
And as I bend down on these weary knees,
Laughter and music fill my ears
I hear my Adam’s chuckle that I never imagined I would hear
And I think of CS Lewis’ words
“Music and Laughter will be the business of Heaven”
Dear one, whatever you are walking thru, know that He is not far
Be encouraged that nothing is impossible with Him
If He can bring laughter from our boy who once had no mouth,
He can surely do infinitely more than you or I could imagine
It may look different in each of our lives
And it may not all sound like laughter, this side of eternity
But, press on, fellow comrade
One day, it will be
One day, we will all see
One day, the final veil will be stripped from our eyes
And we will understand
And we will bow

I am so inspired by your story! We are about to adopt two boys from China. A month ago one of the boys developed a sudden and severe case of encephalitis that has left him seriously brain damaged. We have decided to move forward with both adoptions, and are trusting God to show us the way on a path that looks much different than what we had thought. Your story gives me courage and I look forward to following your blog, as you raise the two beautiful boys God has entrusted to your care and share about what He is teaching you. God bless you and your family.
