You know on our wedding bulletin, we had this printed:
“The Lord has done GREAT things for us and we are FILLED WITH JOY”
(And surely he had done great things…but we had no idea all the goodness in store…)
It is a psalm of david
Earlier in the Psalm, he writes
“our mouths were filled with laughter and our tongues with songs of JOY”
Surely that was true of us today when our boy, Adam, got GLASSES!
Because this reminded us that he can SEE
Remember, we had specialists tell us blindness was the best option
He lived his first 12 weeks with no eyelids and we had to lubricate them every hour with an eye gel
We were told that by constructing eyelids and covering his eyes to heal, he could subsequently lose sight
It seemed like all roads led to blindness
But “the Lord has done great things for us”
Our Father saw fit to restore Adam’s vision.
He saw fit for him to see
So, he is near sighted and his left eye is weaker due to complications early on
But, the fact that he can be tested for vision and can even have a pair of glasses fit him is amazing!
So we are beyond excited today

Later in the Psalm, david wrote
“those who sew in tears will reap with songs of joy”
I am sure many of you feel as though you sew the fields of life around you in tears
But, dear one, press on
When you live beneath the shadow of His wings, songs will inevitably come forth
He will not forsake you
There have been many hard days and nights with our fellow
There have been many nights that his vision seemed hopeless
But today, he was fitted for glasses and it was glorious!
You could see a difference from the beginning
He started watching my hands moving back and forth as I talked excitedly to the eye technician
He started looking at all the displays in the store more intensely
And he seems to not be holding objects as close to his eyes to look at
Friends, it was amazing
After about an hour, he did throw a fit and throw off his glasses
So it will be a battle at times…
But we are just beyond excited that it is even a possibility!

And while we are in the “spectacled spirit”
Elliot got a pair $.99 glasses at the thrift store, popped out the lenses, and has his own pair
So glasses for all in the Paulraj family

My gosh I adore these two.

What a delightful post this morning!! Indeed, The Lord has done great things, and what an honor it is to sojourn with you on this wonderful journey! We serve an awesome God – thank you for showing us how gracious and merciful HE is in even the seemingly little things – like fine tuning eyes!:) Blessings, precious sister!!

Oh, Jess! Adam has never looked so handsome. I LOVE his glasses and I praise God – he truly does give sight to the blind. I continue to pray that the Lord will continue the healing work that He is doing in Adam, not only to his physical body, but also that He will open the eyes of Adam's (and Elliot's) eyes to the glorious truth of the Gospel.

Thank you for persevering in faith. Our Father is not only blessing your family, but all of us who have the privilege of seeing Him work in your lives.

Love you all and can't wait to hug my snuggle buddy Elliot again soon!

Praise the Lord! How wonderful, he looks studious! And fun for Elliot to join in! Medicine & specialized care have advanced so far in the last few decades, it is truly amazing! I'm so happy that Adam got this chance–thank you for taking him to heart & bosom!
